It's the beginning of what will probably be another 85-degree and consequently unproductive day. I had my first university exam this week, for Iberoamerican Art in the 20th Century, which was actually not too different from art history exams I've taken in the U.S. There was actually some analysis involved! One tiny difference is that it's my entire grade for the class. My history exam promises to be worse -- the entire exam is one essay on a topic chosen at random.

Life outside of the facultad is a little less stressful. The weather has been consistently wonderful, the beach is about an hour away and there's a farewell party for a different person every other night. Yesterday I went to Sevilla Foto, Seville's first ever photography festival that's going on for about a month. The current exhibit includes a Spanish photojournalist's images from Afghanistan and Palestine, as well as a pretty broad collection of works by local photographers (only about 2 of them women).

The festival's main location is the Seville Arts Center, a beautiful former monastery (like most of the museums here) with the original ceilings still in and everything. It works so well as exhibition space. Unfortunately, the event has barely been publicized and the building is too far out of the way for most to notice it.

I'm hopefully going paddleboating this weekend as well as climbing up the Giralda (cathedral bell tower). Gotta make the most of the next 12 days!
